Senator Jenny Oropeza State Capitol Building Room #4074 Sacramento, CA 95814 SUBJECT: SB 1614 (OROPEZA): RENTAL CAR COMPANIES Dear Senator Oropeza, SB 1614 is a fair approach to requiring rental car companies to provide customers a top-10 list of the California’s driving laws that have not been consistently adopted in other states. SB 1614 would provide increased information to out-of-state drivers which would lead to safer roads for California and provide a better experience for visitors to our state. With over 33 million visitors from outside of California, it is the responsibility of California to inform these visitors in order to ensure safer roads. Furthermore, by requiring car rental companies to provide out of state visitors with a list of the top 10 driving laws that have not been consistently adopted in other states, educates these drives and helps to prevent accidents and road violations. SB 1614 is written to help everyone who drives in California to be knowledgeable and safe while driving. For these reasons, the I support SB 1614.
